Artist Invitation

Dear Prospective Artist,

The Unified Port of San Diego, The City of Coronado and The Coronado Historical Association welcome you to participate in the fourth Coronado Art Walk, Sunday, September 20, 2009, from 10 am to 5 pm. This free, public event will feature performing arts, artist vendors, and interactive art activities for children and adults, all designed to foster creativity and appreciation for the wonders of ART. You won’t want to miss being a part of this exciting event!

By participating, you will showcase your artwork to thousands of visitors. Attendance for 2008 was estimated at nearly 6,000 people. Planning for advertising is already underway, focusing on an audience residing within a two-hour drive of Coronado. This effort will reach greater Los Angeles, Long Beach, Rancho Bernardo, Riverside, Oceanside, La Mesa, Laguna Beach and South Bay, just to name a few. Press releases and print ads will be published in all of the local and regional media sources including newspapers and magazines. Additionally, a website devoted entirely to the Coronado Art Walk is being updated and features a listing of all participating artists on this web site.

Prior to the event, participants will receive a Save The Date email to forward to clientele as well as 40 promotional postcards. Accepted artists will receive their complimentary Coronado Art Walk T-shirts on the day of the event.

The Coronado Ferry Landing will once again be the location for the Coronado Art Walk. Last year’s event proved to be a spectacular success with both participating artists and the public. We plan to add more artist booths closer to the bay where the Interactive Art Activities were last year in order to accommodate increased artist participation. Our jurors will once again review all entries to ensure we have a well balanced show that reflects as many different artistic mediums as possible. The deadline for submittal is June 30, so get your application in soon!

Please review this important information for specifics about placement, set up and regulations for the day of the event. All accepted artists will be contacted directly.
